Here are some of the invitations that Jairo and Nicola have made. Each is made from a page of a book with uique print on it. The text shown is unique to everyone, which is used as code to enter the performance space. Bernardo recoeded the voice of the viewer and manipulated and used it in the performance.

The audience feedback
FRAGMENTS at Triangle Gallery was attended by 67 people, in 13 performances, for 4 days.
Here are some of the feedback from the audience. Thanks for those who left the feedback!

An interesting way to think about the mind. Confusion and energy. Very simple and beautiful!
Is that a word play? Kind of? Cool performance.
Received internal of head, so many words - how-. The collaboration- performance- sound- prints- so excellent.
Wow! Like clothing I've even experienced! Very mysterious and mesmerising... Will leave me thinking for a while!
It feels so real. It's like all thoughts in the head put in dance. I love it.
Very interesting! Probably we are all mad at some point. With all the voices in our head. Thank you for the experience.
I think the incorporation of viewers voices is an interesting device, especially as you don't recognise your own voice, which creates a sense of disassociation that fits well with the theme of madness!

It was… precisely which day it is difficult to say, but without any doubt it was the most triumphant day
"very interesting work that challnges every boundary"
Yesterday at the opening of the exhibition, Julia Beaumont-Jones from Tate mentioned our FRAGMENTS as "very interesting work that challnges every boundary". Yey!

He discovered that the sound of his voice would not even come from his mouth: the words stirred soundlessly on his lips.

Institute of Contemporary Arts : Talks : The Epic and the Intimate
Not sure if I can make it for this event but I like the description on the epic and the intimate, and our FRAGMENTS sits at the corner of the intimate with loud voice.

Words
The beggining of new week.
It's Monday.
I don't work on Mondays so it's not too bad.
Work- I mean teaching.
I still work in creative activities.
In the morning I finished an application for a residency.
In the afternoon I met Jairo and Nicola for FRAGMENTS.
And now between afternoon and evening.
My head is spinning.
We use so much words to communicate with others, even in art like ours, which try to communicate in other means like visual images and movement.
How much I tried to discribe my ideas with words today.
And I don't know how much the other person understood what I really meant.
Words are a skill.
And words cannot convey everything I want to tell.

Freedom and Responsibility
Jairo and Nicola are away for their deserved holiday in Cornwall.
I am thinking, how to 'promote' our project.
And this is not only this project but generally my practice as 'Dance Artist'.
'Dance Artist' sounds great but in fact it means the person does all the activities you can think of in dance- creation, choreography, performance, teaching, marketing, fundraising, researching, writing etc. The person is almost like the whole theatre organisation, you know, like Sadler's Wells.
And Dance Artist tend to be self-employed, which means s/he is constantly looking for some idea for a project, looking for a work, and never makes decent income.
But I am not writing this to mourn. I am saying that we have great freedom as well as responsibility with what we do, what happens to us and how we respond.
For me, this idea opens up more possibilities and wider view of an issue. I believe this kind of flexibility in the way of seeing is vital for being an artist. And perhaps to enjoy life.
So anyway, I am becoming more aware of the responsibility in the project and feeling that I have to make more action.
'Experience of the audience' is the largest consideration in FRAGMENTS. We don't want the audience to watch the performance from outside, but they should be part of it.
The audience should be part of creative process.
The audience should affect our creation.
The audience should enjoy themselves.
So we want to make a framework for the 'experience of the audience'.
This blog is one of the attempt.
You can be part of the creative process.
You should affect our creation.
You should enjoy yourself.
By reading and leaving a comment in this blog.
We will do the same.

heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeELP
Katsura
arrived
at
our
studio
at
11am
last
F r i d a y.
We were suffering from severe lack of s l e e p and an artistic hangover.
Barely able to string a sentence together,
we
did
however,
reveal our secret weapon for the installation.
Katsura said the design would be like 'dancing with air'
New possibilities and complications sprang up, simultaneously.
We
talked
about
moving
forward,
not repeating the paper chamber of our last excursion.
The project has altered and so will the experience of the audience.
Assistance is needed to help actualise the development of our project and so we ask with hope and gratitude for whoever can come forward.
Is there anyone who wants to join us??????????

HEEEEEEEELP!!!
Jairo and Nicola told me that they wanted to meet up with me. So we met at their studio last Friday morning.
Their studio has huge tables and machinery that they use for printmaking, and also some creative energy with smell of coffee that someone made for her break.
I keep it secret but I saw new printing material from Jairo and Nicola. This changes the whole structure of the installation, and also the way I interact with the installation. And the way the audience interact with it too.
This is the fun bit to work on.
Then we had to talk about the dates, times, helpers, the entrance fee, the bookings...
This is not very much fun to work on.
The project is growing so much. We need kind people who could help us hanging the installation, doing front of house, and creating/editing sound on the spot.
I generally don't like asking people a help.
But this time, we will have to scream
